Reunions can be either traumatic or a lot of fun depending on your expectations going in. Advice I’d give, go into a “reunion” situation with NO expectations. That way, anything is great. However, it’s really good when you’re the other half going to your spouses reunion and not knowing a soul. Of course, it helps being an extrovert and not worrying too much about where you are in life. Plus, it’s a good time when you get along with your spouses friends “Other Halves”. In this case, the other halves were Randy and Dave. We had a great time cracking up. We found, when you have nothing to loose worrying about what everyone else thinks, you can actually have a great time.
Jodi decided to attend her 20th school reunion back in Omaha. Technically, she didn’t graduate with the ones holding the reunion. However, she did spend 11 years at this school and more importantly with a number of those that were going to attend. So, technically, she went to see a few of those she held the fondest memories. She had a great time and reconnected with the ones that counted and she was very sad to say good-bye. On the trip home, she said she could easily live close to these friends Marla and Patty and spend more time with them and their families.
We had a great time and truth be told, I had a lot of fun hanging with the other halves. We made fun of people we didn’t know, reading the bio’s was hilarious and made for a great chuckle. We cracked up, took some wacky pictures and had a great time. Going in, I figured as long as there was a bar, then I was good. However, having a good time with the guys made it even better. All-in-all a good time by all.
If Randy or Dave read this, I’m putting it in writing. You have a standing invite to our house in Colorado anytime!!! Just give us a few hours notice.
