Blizzard 06

Well, we’ve been here 7 years. In 2003, Longmont was spared the big spring blizzard. Well, we weren’t spared this time. With just over 32″ of snow in 24 hours, we were dumped on to say the least. Getting around definately required locked 4×4 and of course, my jeep fits that bill just fine.

I’ve posted several photos here and on my Flickr area to illustrate how much snow was at our home. From the backyard patio furniture being nearly buried, to the snow piles on the roof, it was a lot of snow to say the least.

Fortunately, we’re prepared for this kind of stuff and so are most of the neighbors. When the city is completely shut down, everyone takes a snow day and basically does nothing but shovel the snow from their drives, side walks and cars.

And… it’s only December. It could turn out to be a really snowy winter. Good thing global warming is having it’s affect??? Global warming was the last thing on everyones mind today!
