More Cars!!

Altitude Dream Cars (Formerly known as Altitude Dream Machines) is finally slowly becoming a reality. I’m now working with Cloud 9 to act both as a consultant and with their affiliate program to secure proper insurance.

While those logistics are coming together, I can’t let any grass grow under my shoes. So, without further delay, I’ve secured two more cars. The thinking is that it’ll take 4 to 6 weeks to get the logistics of title and registration sorted out so that when it’s done, it’ll be about the time we can “soft” start.

Hummer H2Second new car, aside from the Elise, was a Yellow Hummer H2. I located this down in Dallas, my old stomping grounds. It was an executive program car with very few miles and it’s perfect for our rental business. I looked around here in Colorado, but nothing was this nice in both age, color and mileage. I’d like to do business locally, but it’s difficult with these kinds of cars.

Second car is the Mercedes CSL500. I also found this down in Dallas atCSL500 an online reseller that has a phenomenal inventory of vehicles. The CLS model is very sporty, sexy, luxurious and seats four. It’ll be perfect for weddings, nights out and executives. An added bonus were the wheels and tire upgrades the previous owner did before trading the car in.

My plan now is to head down to Dallas and transport both cars up to Colorado at the same time. I’ve booked a U-Haul car trailer and will put the CLS on the trailer and use the Hummer to pull it up. Hopefully this will not be an issue for the H2. My motivation is to save money. I’ll be able to haul two cars for roughly what it’d cost me to haul 1. However, if I had them shipped, I’m saving almost 75%.

Now onto Chicago for training so I can get certified to start renting these babies out.

2007, the New Year!

Ole 2006 is no more. Now on to writing 2007 on everything from checks, application forms, notes, emails to blogs. Well, okay, blogs and emails have a time stamp feature, but you get the point. You know for the first few weeks in 2007 we’ll all be typing 2006 or 06 on everything. Then, it’ll have to be scratched out and edited with an 07 or 2007 written at an angle in the typical “no space left for mistakes” area that most forms and checks are void.

It’s a brand-new year for the Cooper family. What did we do on NYE? Nothing. That’s right Absolutely NOTHING. Our take is that NYE is basically an excuse to watch New Yorkers crowd into a small area in lower Manhattan, listen to some music, scream at the cameras as they come by and kiss who evers next to you. Hopefully someone good looking.

For the rest of us, we know it’s NOT the night to go out. Especially if you’re a drinker, even a light drinker. NYE is for staying in, enjoying family and/or friends if you go that route. Watching the ball drop in New York, watching Dick Clark, oh wait, Dicks not on any more. What a shame, it’s a sign of aging. When Dick Clark starts looking old, well, we’re all in for a shocker when we look hard into the mirror.
So, we ended our 2006 year with a ball-dropping voyeurism that most Americans participate by watching a 2 hour MTV Going Gold show. Mostly to watch a few favorite band, My Chemical Romance and AFI entertain us. The only difference is, we caught it on MTV at 10pm our time (Mountain) so we could get a good nights sleep.

Now, on to business and making Altitude Dream Cars into a reality. Come on insurance!!!!
